Description

  • Configure and maintain software for stable, optimal performance across deployments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server issues to minimize downtime and protect uptime.
  • Plan, execute, and support software releases, updates, and security patches.
  • Ensure deployment configurations are consistent, compliant, and repeatable.
  • Deploy and set up software on new hardware and at new sites.
  • Monitor live systems and improve performance and reliability over time.
  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements to speed up deployments and reduce incidents.
  • Maintain clear documentation for configurations, deployments, and system status.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support integrations and resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot deployment and network issues using tools such as SSH, ping, and traceroute.
  • Participate in occasional shifts to support global clients and maintain reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in server configuration, maintenance, and deployments.
  • Hands-on experience in Linux/Ubuntu environments.
  • Basic Bash scripting experience for simple automation tasks.
  • Basic Python scripting experience for automation.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including SSH, authentication methods, public and private IP addresses, TCP vs. UDP, routing, NAT, port forwarding, and port mapping.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a step-by-step approach to resolving connectivity issues and server downtime.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as ifconfig/ipconfig, ping, and traceroute.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to overlap 4-5 hours daily with global teams and provide on-call support if needed.
  • Reliable power and internet access for remote work.
  • High learning agility and comfort adapting to new tools, systems, and processes.
  • Experience with hardware components and on-site infrastructure is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is preferred.
  • Familiarity with virtualization and containerization tools such as VMware and Docker is preferred.
  • Exposure to configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is preferred.
