Description

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated communications programs that increase awareness of product differentiation and unmet medical needs.
  • Serve as the communications lead for commercial product teams and participate in regular planning meetings.
  • Build collaborative communications plans with R&D, medical affairs, regulatory, government affairs, and brand teams.
  • Direct integrated paid, earned, social, and owned communications campaigns.
  • Develop and manage media relations plans and journalist relationships.
  • Design and implement targeted social and digital communications efforts to educate stakeholders and prepare the market for launch.
  • Support KPI and measurement framework development, including metrics tracking and optimization recommendations.
  • Lead reputation and issues preparedness planning, including scenario planning, Q&A development, and leadership briefings.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs and Clinical Development to translate complex scientific information into clear, compliant communications.
  • Develop employee communications that align and engage colleagues around the pipeline and products.
  • Oversee materials through internal review systems to ensure regulatory, legal, and business compliance.
  • Manage the PR agency to align work product, timelines, budgets, and strategic direction.
  • Incorporate emerging technology and data, including AI, into planning and measurement efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Experience in product communications, preferably with CNS, psychiatry, or neurology.
  • Significant experience in clinical data communications.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex data into actionable strategies and secure cross-functional alignment and approvals.
  • Previous in-house and agency experience.
  • Strong understanding of the US healthcare landscape, including regulatory policy and market access.
  • Familiarity with earned and digital/social media environments.
  • Demonstrated executive presence and experience advising senior leaders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience managing agencies, budgets, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Ability to set strategy and long-range plans while executing in a hands-on way.
  • Flexibility and agility to operate in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Collaborative, enterprise-minded approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed.
