Description

  • Deploy and operate UDS environments across AWS EKS, Azure AKS, and on-prem Kubernetes clusters, with ownership of uptime.
  • Build custom UDS packages and application-specific modules to streamline deployment.
  • Use Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and OpenTofu to provision and manage infrastructure.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface for customers, including onboarding, architecture guidance, and production support.
  • Develop training documentation and deliver remote and on-site customer training sessions.
  • Troubleshoot complex UDS issues, meet SLA commitments, and provide on-call support when needed.
  • Gather customer and community feedback and translate it into actionable input for product and engineering teams.
  • Analyze operational and usage data to identify trends and improve delivery efficiency and support processes.
  • Help define onboarding, deployment, support, and service package playbooks as the team and practice scale.
  • Mentor new hires and help shape the technical standards and culture of the growing delivery engineering team.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required for this contractor role supporting the U.S. government.
  • Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar role with a focus on system architecture and development.
  • Strong knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures, including networking, RBAC, and storage for cloud and on-prem clusters.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure AKS, AWS EKS, or on-prem Kubernetes platforms such as RKE2, K3s, or OpenShift.
  • Experience with Helm, GitOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps/DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines running on GitLab or GitHub.
  • Comfort serving as the primary technical interface for customers, including architecture guidance and platform support.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data for decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills and effectiveness in a remote team environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel less than 25% for on-site training and support.
  • DoD IAT Level II certification, such as Security+, is required.
  • A DoD Secret or higher clearance is preferred but not required.
