Description

  • Collaborate with sales leaders and account teams to define value delivery strategies for key accounts.
  • Engage with top prospects to identify, understand, and quantify customer challenges and potential benefits.
  • Define and communicate the dbt Labs value proposition in alignment with customer objectives.
  • Lead business value reviews and business cases that communicate realized impact and economic benefits.
  • Analyze customer workflows and processes to identify optimization and efficiency opportunities.
  • Create and deliver executive-level presentations tailored to champions and key stakeholders.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to tailor solutions to customer needs.
  • Work with dbt leadership to build new value-based go-to-market motions that improve proof of value and increase deal sizes.
  • Conduct training and workshops with enablement teams to improve discovery quality and understanding of business value.
  • Build scalable programs and tools that support value selling across pre-sales, professional services, and marketing.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and tools for the value engineering practice.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in value engineering, management consulting, or a related customer-facing role.
  • Expert knowledge of value-based selling methodologies.
  • Experience building and briefing business cases to economic buyers and other executives.
  • Experience identifying and prioritizing use cases, implementing improvement measures, and acting as a change agent for customers.
  • Ability to project manage multiple workstreams, including scope, expectations, timelines, and delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act decisively with ambiguous guidance and circumstances.
  • Comfort thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment and shaping strategy from the ground up.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect technical capabilities to business impact.
  • Experience working effectively in an asynchronous, fully remote team across global time zones.
  • Consulting mindset with structure, curiosity, analytical rigor, empathy, and storytelling.
  • Prior business value experience at another high-growth SaaS startup is a plus.
  • Experience helping build a Business Value team from the ground up is a plus.
  • Proven record of influencing senior executives and driving measurable customer outcomes is a plus.

  • Typical starting salary range of $155,000-$200,000 USD OTE.
