Description

  • Render correct concepts and meanings between Punjabi and English, preserving complexity, clarity, tone, style, and proper grammar and syntax in both languages.
  • Provide strict renditions of messages including every detail of the conversation and be prepared to handle challenging calls at any time.
  • Employ strong customer service and communication skills, using clear enunciation, correct pronunciation, a pleasant professional voice, and polite expressions.
  • Follow client instructions, manage the flow of the call, avoid taking over the call, and refrain from interacting with the limited-English speaker without client permission.
  • Remain calm during calls when primary speakers are incoherent or upset, including in emergency situations.
  • Remain punctual and available during scheduled work hours and adhere to rotational shift schedules (including night shifts).
  • Ensure reliable access to the internet for work-related electronic communication.
  • Maintain accuracy through effective listening, retention, and note-taking; perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Native fluency in English and Punjabi.
  • Advanced skills in cultural dynamics, including cultural implications and idiomatic expressions for the language.
  • Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to maintain high accuracy.
  • Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and remain neutral and objective at all times.
  • Ability to explain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication when requested or permitted by the client.
  • Comfortable with rotational shifts, including night shifts.
  • Reliable internet access for work-related electronic communication.
  • Available for full-time employment (5 working days with 2 rotational days off).
