Description

  • Own the technical direction of the Scan domain, including connector architecture, ingestion reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Contribute hands-on to development and shipping of connector and ingestion code on a regular basis.
  • Lead design reviews and establish shared engineering practices for quality, testing, observability, and maintainability.
  • Translate product needs into clear technical plans, align stakeholders, and deliver iteratively.
  • Build and maintain connectors integrating with third-party REST APIs and platforms (handling OAuth2/API keys, pagination, rate limits, retries, and webhooks when relevant).
  • Design and implement reliable ingestion flows including incremental sync, idempotency, backfills, error recovery, reconciliation, and safe schema evolution.
  • Normalize and map external data models into DataGalaxy’s internal model to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Maintain and improve the Kotlin-based desktop application used for connector development and operations (configuration, debugging, validation, diagnostics).
  • Improve developer and operator experience, own observability (logs/metrics/traces), monitor connector health, lead production investigations, and manage technical debt (refactoring, dependency upgrades, CI/CD improvements).
  • Support team growth through mentoring, pairing/mob sessions, code review leadership, and coordinate with other squads when changes impact .NET services or Angular UI.

Requirements

  • Proven experience building backend services in the Kotlin ecosystem and familiarity with Kotlin build tooling.
  • Hands-on experience with Maven in production projects (multi-module projects, dependency management, build/release pipelines).
  • Experience integrating external REST APIs and third-party platforms with real-world constraints (OAuth2/API keys, pagination, rate limits, retries, webhooks).
  • Solid foundations in system design for reliability, including resilience patterns, idempotency, consistency, performance, and operability.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases (schema design, indexing, migrations, performance).
  • Comfortable with Git workflows, collaborative code reviews, and applying testing practices to write maintainable, testable code (unit/integration/contract tests where relevant).
  • Experience working with cloud/production constraints (deployments, monitoring, incident/debug workflows) and improving observability.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Familiarity with the data domain and governance concepts and experience integrating data platforms such as Databricks and/or similar ecosystems (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Nice-to-have: experience building desktop applications in Kotlin (JavaFX / Compose for Desktop / Swing), familiarity with .NET (C#) services and Angular/frontend fundamentals, experience with Kubernetes (especially EKS) and observability tooling, and exposure to event-driven or queue-based ingestion patterns and AI-assisted development tools.

Benefits

  • Offices in the heart of Lyon and Paris with flexible working hours (forfait jour).
  • Remote work at will plus €2.70 net per day worked from home and 2 weeks of working from anywhere per year.
  • Health insurance (Apicil) covering you and your family.
  • Meal vouchers (Swile card €9/day) and public transport 50% reimbursement (100% reimbursement for bike subscription).
  • Holiday bonus and quarterly team events and seminars.
  • An attractive remuneration linked to performance and potential.
  • A real opportunity to join a French start-up that is a pioneer in its market.
  • Company commitment to diversity and equal opportunity hiring.
