Description

  • Own the technical direction of the Scan domain, including connector architecture, ingestion reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Contribute hands-on to backend development and code regularly across the Scan stack.
  • Lead design reviews and establish shared engineering practices for quality, testing, observability, and maintainability.
  • Translate product needs into technical plans, align stakeholders, and deliver work iteratively.
  • Build and maintain connectors for third-party REST APIs and platforms, including authentication, pagination, retries, and webhooks when needed.
  • Design reliable ingestion flows with incremental sync, idempotency, backfills, error recovery, reconciliation, and safe schema evolution.
  • Normalize external data models into DataGalaxy’s internal model while preserving data quality and consistency.
  • Maintain and improve the Kotlin desktop application used for connector development and operations.
  • Improve developer and operator experience through better packaging, configuration, debugging, validation workflows, and diagnostics.
  • Promote testing, observability, production issue investigation, technical debt management, and coordination with other squads when changes affect .NET services or the Angular UI.

Requirements

  • Proven experience building backend services with Kotlin.
  • Experience with .NET (C#) services in a heterogeneous stack.
  • Hands-on experience with Maven in production projects, including multi-module builds, dependency management, and build/release pipelines.
  • Experience integrating external REST APIs and third-party platforms under real-world constraints.
  • Strong system design foundations for reliability, including resilience patterns, idempotency, consistency, performance, and operability.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases, including schema design, indexing, migrations, and performance tuning.
  • Comfort with Git workflows and collaborative code reviews.
  • Experience applying testing practices and writing maintainable, testable code.
  • Comfort working with cloud and production constraints, including deployments, monitoring, and incident/debug workflows.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Familiarity with the data domain, including warehouses, lakes, catalogs, orchestration, and governance concepts, is preferred.
  • Experience integrating data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift is preferred.
  • Understanding of metadata, lineage, schemas, and common enterprise data integration patterns is preferred.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted development tools such as coding agents or copilots in daily work is preferred.
  • Experience building desktop applications in Kotlin using JavaFX, Compose for Desktop, or Swing is preferred.
  • Angular knowledge or frontend fundamentals to support connector configuration and visibility in the UI is preferred.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, especially EKS, and observability tooling is preferred.
  • Experience with event-driven ingestion patterns or queue-based processing is preferred.
