Description

  • Partner with engineering, product, and design to architect and deliver a backend platform for product analytics workloads.
  • Drive the architecture, evaluation, and delivery of systems for long-range behavioral data exploration, funnel analysis, and retention analysis.
  • Define the technical roadmap for Product Analytics and align multiple engineering teams around shared goals and architectural principles.
  • Lead high-visibility technical initiatives across the Product Analytics product area.
  • Bridge product needs with internal or external technologies and lead build/buy evaluations.
  • Integrate open-source or third-party systems when appropriate.
  • Provide technical mentorship and help develop senior engineers on the team.
  • Contribute to the technical direction of a fast-growing product area that serves new user groups beyond traditional engineering audiences.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in a scientific field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of backend engineering experience.
  • Strong background in distributed systems and large-scale data processing.
  • Deep experience with SQL, query optimization, and large analytical datasets.
  • Comfort leading build/buy evaluations and technical integration of external systems.
  • Effective communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Product-minded judgment focused on customer value.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows and validate, critique, and refine AI-generated output.
  • Bonus: interest in pushing the boundaries of how AI can improve software engineering best practices and building AI-enabled products.
