Description

  • Build and maintain tools that improve the building and releasing of open source software at Datadog.
  • Build and maintain tools that improve the ingestion of open source software at Datadog.
  • Create developer-facing documentation and training materials for contributing to and maintaining open source projects.
  • Interface with open source communities to understand problems and market trends.
  • Create tools to automatically analyze and report on open source repository trends and statistics.
  • Work with Datadog Open Source Partners candidates and recipients to select new projects and keep the program effective.
  • Research and write content for the Datadog Open Source Hub.
  • Contribute product feedback, documentation, or code based on issues and enhancement opportunities.
  • Represent Datadog in open source communities.

Requirements

  • Approximately 3+ years of experience as a software developer, SRE, or similar practitioner.
  • Fluency in reading and writing one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, Go, C#, or Rust.
  • Strong empathy, collaboration, and communication skills to build relationships across teams.
  • Interest in building tools that make other engineers more productive.
  • Active participation in an open source community is a plus.
  • Familiarity with open source licenses and Contributor License Agreements is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and grow even if you do not meet every qualification on day one.
