Description

  • Lead and mentor a team of experienced incident responders and support their career growth.
  • Serve as a hands-on leader during security incidents and help drive resolution under pressure.
  • Participate in a secondary on-call rotation to support resourcing and decision-making during escalations.
  • Ensure alerts and signals in Datadog Cloud SIEM are triaged consistently and effectively.
  • Partner with the Threat Detection team to tune and calibrate security signals.
  • Build tools, systems, and processes that improve security incident response capabilities.
  • Measure and communicate the team’s operational performance and progress to stakeholders.
  • Lead blameless post-incident analysis and ensure follow-up items address systemic issues.
  • Collaborate with product management and other security teams to improve features and prevent future incidents.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience as a people manager or technical leader with strong mentorship skills.
  • Experience in career development, performance management, team velocity optimization, OKRs, and hiring in diverse and inclusive organizations is ideal.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in incident response teams and large-scale incident response programs.
  • Experience responding to security-related incidents and threats.
  • Strong ownership and the ability to work outside your comfort zone to restore stability during failures.
  • Technical pragmatism and the ability to evaluate implementation trade-offs.
  • Ability to review decisions and RFCs from senior engineers using both technical and business judgment.
  • Strong distributed systems knowledge and a solid technical baseline.
  • Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and communication skills in English for remote cross-functional work.
