Description

  • Lead and mentor a team of experienced incident responders and support their career growth.
  • Serve as a hands-on leader during security incidents and help drive resolution under pressure.
  • Participate in the secondary on-call rotation and support responders with resourcing and decision-making.
  • Ensure alerts and signals in Datadog Cloud SIEM are triaged consistently and effectively.
  • Partner with the Threat Detection team to tune and calibrate detection signals.
  • Build tools, systems, and processes that mature Datadog’s security incident response capabilities.
  • Measure and communicate the team’s operational performance and improvements to stakeholders.
  • Lead post-incident analysis and ensure postmortems are blameless, actionable, and followed by remediation items.
  • Collaborate with product management and other security teams to improve features and prevent future incidents.
  • Help shape organizational strategy, culture, and shared priorities across Datadog.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience as a people manager or technical leader with strong mentorship skills.
  • Experience in career development, performance management, team velocity tracking, OKRs, and hiring in diverse and inclusive organizations.
  • 3-5 years of experience in incident response teams or large-scale incident response programs.
  • Experience with security-related incidents and threat response.
  • Strong ownership and ability to work beyond normal team boundaries during incidents.
  • Technical pragmatism and the ability to reason about implementation trade-offs.
  • Experience reviewing decisions and RFCs from senior engineers.
  • Strong distributed systems knowledge.
  • A solid technical baseline and the ability to read and contribute to postmortems.
  • Strong stakeholder management, empathy, collaboration, and English communication skills for remote cross-functional work.
