Description

  • Provide technical leadership to help strategic customers successfully implement big data and large-scale data warehousing projects.
  • Architect and optimize production data workloads, including end-to-end pipeline load performance testing and tuning.
  • Demonstrate the value of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform for customer use cases.
  • Develop expertise in a specialty area such as data lake technology, big data streaming, or data ingestion and workflows.
  • Support Solutions Architects on advanced technical sales activities, including custom proof-of-concept content, workload sizing, and custom architectures.
  • Provide tutorials and training to drive community adoption, including hackathons and conference presentations.
  • Contribute to the Databricks Community.
  • Collaborate with Solutions Architects and internal teams to align customer technical roadmaps with the platform.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role with deep expertise across data engineering and observability.
  • Hands-on experience with data ingestion, streaming technologies such as Spark Streaming or Kafka, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and Spark debugging.
  • Experience building data-driven applications such as risk modeling, fraud detection, or customer lifetime value (LTV) use cases.
  • Experience with data observability tools such as Splunk, Elastic, or Sentinel, including telemetry, high-velocity log ingestion, and anomaly detection.
  • Proven track record of maintaining, scaling, and extending production data systems to meet complex business needs.
  • Experience designing and scaling cost-efficient, high-performance cloud data workloads for ETL/ELT and analytics.
  • Experience building and migrating large-scale batch, CDC, and streaming pipelines.
  • Experience migrating on-premises or Hadoop-based systems to modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience managing modern lakehouse and warehouse systems, including Delta Lake, data modeling, governance, and BI integration.
  • Production programming experience in SQL and at least one of Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Strong familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Preferred: prior customer-facing experience in a pre-sales or post-sales technical role.
  • Ability to meet technical training and role milestone expectations within 6 months of hire.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
