Description

  • Build and maintain backend systems in Haskell and frontend components in PureScript with onboarding support.
  • Work daily in pair programming and participate in code reviews.
  • Solve problems involving concurrency, state management, data consistency, and transactions.
  • Contribute to a system designed for correctness, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Work in fully Dockerized development and execution environments.
  • Collaborate across frontend and backend contexts as part of a technical engineering team.
  • Apply strong fundamentals to model and solve non-trivial system behavior problems.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in JavaScript, including vanilla ES5/ES6, not just frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of functional programming principles, including immutability, pure functions, and composition.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including concurrency, data structures, and transaction handling.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
  • Ability to work across frontend and backend contexts.
  • Comfort working in collaborative environments such as pair programming and code reviews.
  • Functional English proficiency, both written and spoken.
  • Experience with functional or strongly typed languages such as Haskell, PureScript, Scala, F#, Elixir, or Clojure is a plus.
  • Experience with test-driven development (TDD) is a plus.
  • Exposure to distributed systems or microservices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AWS is a plus.
  • Prior experience with Haskell or PureScript is not required.
  • Background in AI, machine learning, cloud infrastructure management, or logistics is not required.
