Description

  • Run and maintain the Kubernetes-based hosting environment and AWS infrastructure supporting client applications.
  • Migrate client workloads into new Kubernetes environments and validate configurations as the platform evolves.
  • Respond to outages and security incidents, including detection, containment, remediation, reporting, and daily alert monitoring.
  • Execute site go-lives, troubleshoot pipeline failures, and improve CI/CD deployment workflows.
  • Manage identity and access across business systems, including secure onboarding, offboarding, and device management.
  • Support ISO 27001 and SOC 2 compliance activities by maintaining controls, evidence, and audit readiness.
  • Maintain and improve monitoring, alerting, and observability so issues are detected before clients notice.
  • Manage DNS, SSL/TLS certificates, and domain lifecycles for client and internal services.
  • Run backup restore tests and quarterly disaster recovery drills to demonstrate rapid recovery capability.
  • Reduce manual work by scripting repetitive runbooks, building repeatable workflows, and applying automation and AI where useful.

Requirements

  • Solid Linux systems administration and strong scripting/automation skills, such as Bash or Python.
  • Hands-on experience with workflow and automation tooling such as n8n or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
  • Experience migrating and configuring workloads across Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience with Docker and AWS.
  • Experience running CI/CD pipelines; Bitbucket Pipelines is used in this role.
  • Calm, methodical approach to incident response and production troubleshooting under pressure.
  • Sound judgement on security and access control, with a least-privilege mindset.
  • Exposure to compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2, with discipline to maintain controls and evidence.
  • Comfort working within governed, access-restricted environments for compliance and contractual reasons.
  • Ability to run a platform largely independently while collaborating within a small team.
  • Concrete examples of applying automation or AI in a DevOps context and explaining the impact.
  • Personal projects, side builds, or a home lab that demonstrate automation interest, are highly regarded.
  • Practical use of AI tooling in day-to-day operational work is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with Drupal and/or Laravel application hosting is highly regarded.
  • Experience with managed Kubernetes hosting platforms is highly regarded.
  • Experience with on-call and alerting tools such as OpsGenie, JAMF, and Atlassian or Google Workspace administration is highly regarded.
  • Track record of automating repetitive operational work is highly regarded.
  • Experience contributing to ISO 27001 or SOC 2 audits and certification is highly regarded.
  • DNS, SSL/TLS, and domain lifecycle knowledge is highly regarded.

Benefits

  • Salary of 2,700–3,500 AUD, with final offer depending on qualifications.
  • Working hours aligned to AU business hours.
