Description

  • Manage supplier invoice processing, cost allocation, supplier statement reconciliations, and timely payment coordination.
  • Maintain Xero records, reconcile bank accounts, and generate accurate payment files.
  • Monitor client billing collections, follow up on overdue invoices, and enforce deposit-before-order requirements.
  • Record fixed asset purchases and support asset and loan accounting with the accountant.
  • Prepare end-of-job profit and loss reports, monthly expense reports, and joint venture allocation reviews.
  • Process weekly payroll and contractor payments for employees and ABN contractors, including leave checks and approvals.
  • Set up new hires in Xero, record super details, submit STP each pay run, and finalise year-end STP.
  • Process employee expense reimbursements and superannuation contributions through the clearing house.
  • Prepare BAS/IAS workpapers, reconcile GST and PAYG, and support lodgements, payments, and filing.
  • Provide financial information and support for P&L, payroll tax, tax notices, and accountant requests.

Requirements

  • Bookkeeping, accounts, or payroll background.
  • Experience with Xero or similar cloud accounting software.
  • Comfortable using Google Sheets.
  • Ability to learn new systems independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Interest in AI tools and process automation.
  • Fast learner who can adapt to new tools and processes without extensive training.
  • Able to work effectively with on-site construction crews.
  • Discreet and trustworthy with payroll data.
  • Results-driven, proactive, and able to see tasks through to completion.
