Description

  • Configure, administer, monitor, and troubleshoot SAN fabrics, storage arrays, Fibre Channel switches, zoning, and zone sets.
  • Resolve Fabric Login, name-server, pathing, inter-switch-link, and WWN/PWWN connectivity issues.
  • Configure storage volumes, LUNs, pools, tiers, snapshots, replication, masking, host access, multipathing, and high-availability configurations.
  • Integrate storage with physical and virtual servers, VMware, backup, database, network, security, and cloud platforms.
  • Monitor availability, capacity, latency, IOPS, throughput, and system health; diagnose bottlenecks and develop capacity forecasts.
  • Respond to outages by diagnosing issues, coordinating mitigation and vendor escalation, validating recovery, and supporting root-cause analysis.
  • Plan and execute storage and SAN refreshes, firmware and software upgrades, data migrations, and non-disruptive cutovers with rollback procedures.
  • Configure and test backup, restoration, replication, failover, failback, disaster recovery, and quarterly COOP exercises.
  • Apply approved patches and configurations in accordance with DISA STIGs and remediate vulnerabilities, IAVAs, CND Directives, and POA&M items.
  • Maintain asset, lifecycle, configuration, zoning, capacity, recovery, and SOP documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant technical degree.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in storage engineering, SAN administration, systems engineering, data-center infrastructure, or enterprise IT.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and troubleshooting SAN fabrics, storage arrays, switches, zoning, Fabric Logins, and WWN/PWWN connectivity.
  • Active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Experience supporting enterprise storage or SAN infrastructure in a federal or DoD environment (preferred).
  • Experience with Dell Technologies, NetApp, Pure Storage, HPE, IBM, Hitachi, or similar storage platforms, and Brocade or Cisco MDS Fibre Channel switches (preferred).
  • Experience integrating storage with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, Microsoft, Linux, database, backup, and cloud platforms (preferred).
  • Experience supporting COOP or disaster-recovery exercises across physically separated data centers (preferred).
  • Experience with storage refreshes, data migrations, array replacements, and SAN cutovers (preferred).
  • Experience applying DISA STIGs and supporting DoD RMF, ATO, IAVA, CND Directive, and POA&M requirements; relevant storage, infrastructure, VMware, CompTIA Server+, SNIA, or ITIL certifications are preferred.
