Description

  • Lead the accounting and financial-reporting workstreams for IPO readiness, including gap assessments and a phased roadmap.
  • Prepare PCAOB-standard audited financial statements and lead accounting, disclosures, and financial-statement work for the S-1 registration process.
  • Build SEC reporting, disclosure committee, earnings-cycle, and SOX 404 compliance capabilities.
  • Own consolidated financial statements, intercompany accounting, eliminations, close processes, and reporting across all brands and legal entities.
  • Establish accounting standards, including a unified chart of accounts, consistent policies, close calendar, and reporting definitions.
  • Develop technical accounting policies and position papers for revenue recognition, equity compensation, leases, and business combinations.
  • Set and execute the accounting technology strategy, deploying AI and automation across close, reconciliation, intercompany, AP, and reporting.
  • Lead acquisition accounting due diligence, purchase accounting, opening balance sheets, purchase-price allocations, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Oversee external audits, tax strategy and filings, lender compliance, and relationships with auditors, lenders, underwriters, and legal counsel.
  • Lead and develop Accounting, Tax, AR, AP, and Fraud teams; report results to executive leadership, the Board, and Audit Committee.

Requirements

  • CPA designation.
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 7+ years in senior accounting leadership managing multi-layered teams.
  • Hands-on experience leading a company through an IPO, including S-1 preparation, PCAOB audit readiness, SEC reporting readiness, and public-company controls infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing SOX 404 compliance programs.
  • Experience scaling accounting processes, systems, and teams through significant business growth.
  • Experience owning consolidated financial reporting, intercompany accounting, and eliminations across multiple legal entities or business units.
  • Deep knowledge of direct-to-consumer accounting, including multi-location retail and e-commerce operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP, emerging pronouncements, and technical accounting for complex transactions.
  • Experience deploying accounting automation or AI tools at scale across multiple entities or business units.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to brand locations as needed.
  • Public-company post-IPO reporting, multi-brand or private-equity portfolio, M&A integration, Big Four/national audit, and asset-based lending experience preferred.
