Description

  • Conduct technical due diligence for private equity and other investment firms, evaluating technology strengths, risks, and opportunities for potential investments.
  • Assess software engineering organizations and produce actionable plans to improve team capability and performance in targeted areas.
  • Design and implement solutions from scratch, including transformations (e.g., Agile methodology changes) and process improvements.
  • Participate in and drive hands-on implementation projects using applicable processes and technologies, delivering measurable client outcomes.
  • Create clear diligence reports and deliverables for investors that outline technical investment risks and recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and client technical leads and team members during assessments and implementations.
  • Guide and mentor more junior software developers and engineers throughout projects.
  • Begin as an apprentice on initial projects and take full ownership to drive subsequent projects to successful completion, including project management and execution.

Requirements

  • 15+ years shipping software products or services in roles such as Product Management, Program Management/Business Analyst, Architect, Developer, QA Engineer, Release Manager, DevOps, Product Support, or Professional Services.
  • Ability to work remotely (from home or chosen office), be self-directed, and effectively collaborate both remotely and in-person.
  • Strong technical acumen and technical horsepower.
  • Deep knowledge in at least one area: Product Management, Program Management, Software Architecture, Software Development, Quality Assurance, Release Management, DevOps, Product Support, or Professional Services.
  • Willingness to learn and take on areas outside initial comfort zone.
  • Passion for developing others and improving high-performing teams.
  • Action-oriented personality with a track record of getting work done.
  • [Preferred] Experience with project management tools (e.g., TFS, Jira), development technologies (e.g., C#, Java), build tools (e.g., TFS, Jenkins, TeamCity), test tools (e.g., TFS, HP QC, Selenium), or deployment tools (e.g., MS Release Management, Octopus, Chef).
  • [Preferred] Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (experience is prioritized over degree).
  • [Role context] Position is a remote (US) contract role within Client Services.
