Description

  • Serve private equity portfolio company clients within the Office of the CFO and improve the effectiveness of finance functions.
  • Own stakeholder relationships at portfolio companies to scope work, clarify needs, and deliver client service.
  • Identify new growth opportunities and collaborate with sales leadership to originate business and expand existing relationships.
  • Liaise with buy-side due diligence teams, including M&A advisors and outside counsel, to support smooth post-closing transitions.
  • Support complex private equity initiatives such as post-closing net working capital settlements, purchase accounting, and accounting method changes.
  • Provide leadership on financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
  • Lead client finance and accounting functions, including process improvement, consolidation, reporting, board reporting, and management reporting.
  • Advise on system strategy and selection for finance operations when needed, including accounting policy guidance.
  • Represent client needs to leadership and advocate on behalf of clients internally.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor junior team members while serving as part of the leadership team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a client-facing role at a public accounting firm, consulting firm, or in a combination of consulting and industry roles.
  • Experience working in the private equity consulting environment.
  • Proven experience leading and implementing best practices to optimize finance and accounting functions.
  • Extensive experience with transactions and related integration activities.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, including US GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Ability to advise on and research complex technical accounting and transaction issues.
  • Strong strategic planning and operational deployment skills with the ability to provide direction to team members.
  • Knowledge of key Office of the CFO technology solutions, including ERP and EPM systems.
  • Experience with or significant exposure to data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Snowflake, SQL, or Python.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior team members and helping teams resolve multi-faceted issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA or CA certification preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%, depending on client needs.
