Description

  • Design and build maintainable, performant, and secure backend services.
  • Develop new features and enhancements for the payment platform.
  • Work closely with Frontend and Mobile Engineering teams to integrate frontend UI.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders across planning, design, implementation, deployment, and support.
  • Help keep the team up to date with the evolving technology stack.
  • Write high-quality code with performance and scalability in mind.
  • Work on high-availability systems, scalability challenges, automated workflows, infrastructure orchestration, and queueing systems.
  • Develop services and integrations using APIs and protocols such as GraphQL and gRPC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Backend Engineer.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Experience coding in multiple programming languages and their ecosystems, especially JavaScript (Node.js), Python, Golang, and C/C++.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and/or non-relational databases such as Redis.
  • Strong understanding of web semantics.
  • Knowledge of revision control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of standard development pipelines, including build and other automation tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience developing APIs for other products is preferred.
  • Experience building software that interacts with message queues such as Kafka, NSQ, Pulsar, or RabbitMQ is preferred.
  • Experience integrating APIs from other service providers is preferred.
  • Proven record of working with performance budgets is preferred.
  • Fluency in cryptocurrencies or other digital assets is preferred.
  • Community talks, certifications, and/or blog posts are a plus.
  • Open source project contributions are a plus.
