Description

  • Architect and deliver end-to-end AI/ML solutions on Google Cloud using Vertex AI and Gemini/LLM services.
  • Develop production data pipelines with BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Build, and infrastructure as code.
  • Implement MLOps practices including experiment tracking, evaluation, model versioning, monitoring, drift detection, and automated retraining.
  • Apply secure-by-design patterns aligned with DoD and Federal security requirements, including VPC-SC, CMEK, IAM, artifact signing, and secrets management.
  • Operationalize LLM and GenAI solutions, including retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, safety filters, and evaluation harnesses.
  • Partner with mission stakeholders to gather requirements, define success metrics, and deliver iterative value.
  • Provide technical mentorship and lead design and code reviews for engineering teams.
  • Contribute to program roadmaps and document architectures, controls, and SOPs for ongoing operations.

Requirements

  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance; active Secret clearance preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced degree in AI/ML, Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline preferred.
  • 8+ years of total software development or data experience, including 5+ years focused on AI/ML engineering and MLOps.
  • 5+ years of hands-on AI/ML solution development experience.
  • Production deployment experience on Google Cloud (GCP).
  • Current Google Associate Cloud Engineer (GCP-ACE) or Google Professional Cloud Architect (GCP-PCA) certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • At least one current DoD Cyber Baseline Certification, such as Security+ Intermediate or SecurityX/CASP+ Advanced, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience extracting data from SAP Enterprise Business Applications.
  • Expertise in Python and/or Go/TypeScript for AI services, with strong experience in Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataflow/Data Fusion, GKE/Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.
  • Practical experience with LLMs/GenAI such as Gemini, vector databases, prompt engineering, RAG patterns, and evaluation or guardrail approaches.
  • Proven MLOps track record with pipelines, CI/CD for ML, feature stores, monitoring and drift, and automated retraining.
  • Ability to design for security and compliance in DoD/Federal environments, including NIST 800-53, RMF, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Vertex AI Agent Builder, Model Garden, embeddings or vector search such as BigQuery Vector or AlloyDB AI, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Experience integrating GenAI safely within IL5 environments and familiarity with government AI platforms.
