Description

  • Own product outcomes each sprint and drive the highest-impact work to live.
  • Design and build AI-driven features using OCR, document understanding, generation, agent loops, and evaluation harnesses.
  • Prototype quickly and turn working drafts into production-grade software.
  • Work directly with customers to observe real claims, underwriting, and broker workflows and identify improvements.
  • Raise code quality through reviews, refactoring, testability, and observability improvements.
  • Propose, build, and adopt new skills, internal tools, and engineering standards.
  • Collaborate across the team to define what should be automated, reimagined, or removed.
  • Improve the codebase, product, and team practices through hands-on execution.
  • Communicate tradeoffs and decisions effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience building production systems.
  • Track record of shipping complex, customer-facing software.
  • Experience building and shipping at least one substantive AI-driven feature.
  • Strong fundamentals in object-oriented programming, design patterns, testing, web security, and performance.
  • Comfort working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with at least one cloud platform in depth.
  • Ability to learn new tools quickly and start shipping within a week.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining tradeoffs to both non-technical stakeholders and engineers.
  • Curious about the insurance domain and comfortable working in a messy, fast-changing environment.
  • Experience with LLMs or agents in a real shipped product (preferred).
