Description

  • Own outcomes for customer-facing work rather than managing tickets.
  • Identify the highest-leverage product improvements each sprint and drive them to production.
  • Build AI-powered features using OCR, document understanding, generation, agent loops, and evaluation harnesses.
  • Prototype solutions quickly and then harden them into production-grade software.
  • Work directly with customers to observe claims, underwriting, broker, and workflow pain points.
  • Improve code quality through reviews, refactoring, testability, and observability.
  • Help raise engineering standards and introduce useful skills, agents, and internal tools.
  • Push the team forward by proposing, building, and adopting better ways of working.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience building production systems.
  • Track record of shipping complex, customer-facing software.
  • At least one substantive AI-driven feature shipped to production.
  • Experience building with LLMs or agents in a real-world setting.
  • Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, design patterns, testing, web security, and performance.
  • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, with at least one platform used in depth.
  • Ability to pick up new tools quickly and ship with them within a week.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Curiosity about insurance and comfort working in a messy, high-context domain.
