Description

  • Design, build, and ship end-to-end payment features across backend services, web checkout, and mobile applications.
  • Develop and improve checkout experiences, including payment-method selection, 3D Secure routing, error handling, decline handling, and conversion optimization.
  • Build fraud and risk capabilities, including real-time scoring, risk rules, device signals, and identity checks.
  • Prevent and manage disputes and chargebacks, automate evidence collection, and feed outcomes into fraud decisions.
  • Ensure payment reliability through idempotent retries, webhook processing, monitoring, and feature-flagged rollouts.
  • Lead technical design discussions, raise code-review standards, and mentor other engineers.
  • Support expansion into new markets and payment methods.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong full-stack experience with production TypeScript and React; Next.js and mobile experience are preferred.
  • Experience designing backend APIs and services, working with relational databases, and operating cloud systems.
  • Hands-on experience with payment processor integrations, payment lifecycles, webhooks, refunds, and disputes.
  • Experience building PCI-compliant payment UIs using hosted fields and tokenization.
  • Experience with fraud-prevention systems such as risk rules, scoring, 3D Secure, device signals, or identity checks.
  • Ability to use SQL and data to measure fraud and conversion and monitor payment rollouts.
  • Experience with alternative or digital payment methods, A/B testing, experimentation, or marketplaces is preferred.
