Description

  • Draft, review, and negotiate high volumes of commercial SaaS and related agreements, including MSAs, PSAs, SLAs, NDAs, and vendor/procurement contracts.
  • Structure and negotiate strategic partnership, channel partner, reseller, and referral agreements.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Business Development to streamline contract cycles and provide practical legal advice.
  • Serve as embedded product counsel to support Product and Engineering from concept through launch and promote compliance-by-design.
  • Review product roadmaps, feature rollouts, and third-party software/API integrations for legal, IP, and liability risks.
  • Advise on data privacy compliance and negotiate DPAs and SCCs for global privacy matters.
  • Monitor emerging AI legal and regulatory issues, including generative AI and the EU AI Act.
  • Manage disputes, commercial claims, and active litigation matters under the General Counsel’s direction.
  • Coordinate with and manage outside counsel to support cost-effective and strategically aligned representation.
  • Support corporate governance, compliance, employment law, intellectual property, and internal legal operations as needed.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from an accredited institution.
  • Active membership in good standing with a relevant Bar Association or Law Society.
  • 2–3+ years of legal experience, ideally combining top-tier law firm training with in-house experience at a technology or SaaS company.
  • Experience or strong interest in product counsel work and evaluating product integrations and technical workflows legally.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of data privacy frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, Law 25, and PIPEDA.
  • Familiarity with or interest in AI legal issues, data scraping, and technology ethics.
  • Proven track record of negotiating commercial tech transactions and partnership agreements with enterprise clients and procurement teams.
  • Exceptional drafting and communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into actionable advice.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment across time zones.
  • Experience with intellectual property, trademark enforcement, compliance, or employment law is preferred.
