Description

  • Lead permitting efforts for standalone storage and solar-plus-storage projects, managing consultants and service providers such as permitting consultants, surveyors, engineers, and outside counsel.
  • Lead site due diligence by gathering and analyzing technical data to assess site feasibility.
  • Manage consultants performing site studies, environmental reviews, and other technical evaluations.
  • Prepare, submit, and track permitting applications through approval.
  • Engage local stakeholders, including community members, government officials, and other key parties, in collaboration with senior team members.
  • Coordinate cross-functional development activities and support the handoff of entitled projects.
  • Prepare reports, maintain project documentation, and ensure proper filing and organization of project records.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings with consultants, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with consultant and vendor contract management, including invoicing and payments.
  • Represent the company at public meetings and on project-related travel as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, geosciences, or another relevant field.
  • Minimum 6 years of related experience in commercial land development, engineering, construction, or a related field.
  • Proven project management experience in cross-functional team management, due diligence, entitlements, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Intermediate knowledge of land use planning, zoning, and permitting processes.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills for managing multiple tasks and stakeholders.
  • Ability to review and interpret technical reports and recommend next steps under supervision.
  • Proficiency in managing project timelines and deliverables with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to make day-to-day decisions autonomously and manage projects in various stages of development with limited oversight.
  • Experience working with engineering, legal, and finance teams to align project objectives and timelines.
  • Experience engaging with external consultants and managing relationships with permitting agencies, local governments, and community stakeholders.
  • Alignment with Convergent’s mission and a strong interest in the clean energy transition.
  • 30% travel expected, including pre-application, municipal, pre-construction, team, and company-wide meetings; remote site travel may be required.
  • Ability to perform physical activity as needed, including standing, walking, or lifting up to 50 lbs.
