Description

  • Own assigned BESS projects from commercial handoff through Financing Ready/NTP as the single point of accountability.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, land development, legal, procurement, analytics, and other functions.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, customer commitments, technical requirements, and investment returns.
  • Assess project risks and recommend continuation, hold, restructuring, or termination decisions.
  • Develop integrated project plans and drive accountability for milestones and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with Capital Markets to align project delivery with financing strategy.
  • Own development budgets, authorize expenditures, and maintain project financial models.
  • Preserve project economics, including IRR and LNPV, while informing procurement and financing readiness.
  • Engage and negotiate with customers, landowners, utilities, authorities having jurisdiction, and community stakeholders.
  • Transition completed projects to the PMO and provide informal mentorship to junior staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 8 years of experience developing renewable energy or BESS projects through completion.
  • Strong commercial, financial, project management, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Experience managing development budgets, schedules, and project economics.
  • Proficiency with Smartsheet, Microsoft Excel, and basic project modeling preferred.
  • Authorization to work for any U.S. employer; employment-based visa sponsorship is unavailable.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25%, including potential travel to remote sites by car or air.
  • Ability to perform applicable physical activities, including standing, walking, or lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Interest in the clean energy transition and alignment with Convergent’s mission and values.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $150,000–$165,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Fully remote work outside the New York Metropolitan area; NYC-area employees generally work hybrid, 1–2 days weekly in the office.
