Description

  • Provide expert guidance on the 2026 NEC, Massachusetts amendments (527 CMR 12), and related codes, identifying and explaining significant code changes and their impact on installations.
  • Interpret complex code requirements and translate them into practical, online learning applications and real-world examples.
  • Collaborate remotely with course designers to establish clear learning objectives aligned with Board requirements and recommend essential content topics.
  • Suggest practical examples, case studies, scenarios, diagrams, illustrations, and interactive elements optimized for online delivery.
  • Review, validate, and perform quality assurance on all online course materials to ensure technical accuracy and Board compliance per the Provider Guide.
  • Verify that online assessments and knowledge checks effectively measure comprehension and recommend revisions to improve clarity and effectiveness.
  • Deliver live virtual instruction using video conferencing platforms, facilitate synchronous and asynchronous discussions, and answer technical questions.
  • Adapt teaching methods for remote learners, test online modules for proper function, and create an engaging virtual learning environment.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Massachusetts Electrician license (Master or Journeyman) obtained through state examination and in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in electrical contracting with demonstrated expertise in the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Massachusetts Electrical Code (MEC).
  • Comprehensive understanding of the 2026 NEC and Massachusetts amendments (527 CMR 12) and related codes/standards.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn online learning platforms, Microsoft Office, video conferencing tools, and digital collaboration software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear articulation of technical concepts in digital formats.
  • Strong analytical ability to identify significant code changes and their practical implications for installations.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fully remote environment.
  • Reliable internet connection, appropriate video-conferencing technology, ability to work from a home office, and some evening availability for synchronous sessions.
  • Willingness to participate in code update training, professional development, and to stay current with Board advisories and industry best practices.
