Description

  • Teach assigned Florida Air A, Air B, and Mechanical Contractor exam-prep courses according to the curriculum plan (Trade and Business & Finance components).
  • Lead and actively engage students in online classes, mentoring learners and addressing performance issues.
  • Implement teaching strategies to help students meet established course objectives and provide practical exam-taking techniques.
  • Provide detailed instruction on key exam topics including Florida Air A/Air B/Mechanical code requirements, construction safety and OSHA, trade-specific knowledge, math calculations, and contract/business law.
  • Create, review, and maintain practice questions and mock exams that mirror current exam content and format.
  • Develop and maintain study materials that address common exam challenges and guide students through practice exercises.
  • Stay current with CILB exam updates, Florida construction codes, regulations, and prevailing construction practices.
  • Assist with updating course content as needed and occasionally script and film instructional video content to enhance the online student experience.

Requirements

  • Current Mechanical Contractor license in the State of Florida.
  • Ability to instruct both the Trade and Business & Finance components of the Florida Air A, Air B, and Mechanical Contractor licensing exams.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of Florida Air A/Air B/Mechanical codes, construction safety/OSHA requirements, trade math calculations, and contract/business law.
  • Prior experience teaching pre-license courses in construction-related trades or professional education (preferred).
  • Experience creating or reviewing practice questions, mock exams, and study materials aligned with licensing exam content.
  • Willingness and ability to stay current with CILB exam updates, codes, and regulations.
  • Comfort with online instruction and engaging learners in a remote environment.
  • Ability to script and film instructional video content when requested.
