Description

  • Drive the technical vision and execution of complex, multi-quarter initiatives across multiple engineering teams.
  • Lead the design and development of mission-critical trading systems, including order management, execution engines, and reliability infrastructure.
  • Partner with product management, design, and other functions to align product strategy with technical direction and roadmap.
  • Deeply understand the trading stack and product roadmap to identify and shape strategic technical initiatives.
  • Mentor and coach engineers across multiple levels and help develop future technical leaders.
  • Raise engineering quality through design reviews, code review guidance, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the US Trading team to define and deliver Coinbase's next-generation trading system for IntX.
  • Influence stakeholders and drive consensus across organizational boundaries on complex technical decisions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of shipping large-scale distributed systems.
  • Significant leadership experience in technical roles.
  • Deep expertise in trading systems, including order management, execution algorithms, market data, or risk management.
  • Experience with traditional or crypto trading systems (preferred).
  • Strong product intuition and customer focus in technical decision-making.
  • Proven ability to lead complex initiatives across organizational boundaries and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong mentoring skills and experience building high-performing teams.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, high-stakes, high-velocity environments.
  • High standards for quality, correctness, and operational excellence.
  • Ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots such as LibreChat, Gemini, and Glean in daily workflows with human-in-the-loop practices.
  • Experience working with Go or other performant backend languages (preferred).
  • Prior experience in financial markets, especially equities, FX, or crypto (preferred).
  • Familiarity with regulated environments and designing for compliance and auditability (preferred).
  • Contributions to open source or trading protocols (preferred).

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of SGD $244,100.
  • Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.

  • Remote-first for many roles, with required in-person participation throughout the year.
  • Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually and are fully supported.
