Description

  • Act as the tech lead for the first 6 months, contributing directly to technical projects and code before transitioning into people management.
  • Spend at least 25% of time as an individual contributor to improve engineering quality and team velocity.
  • Build high-performance services using Golang and gRPC.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to deliver and operate multi-tenant distributed systems at scale.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define product roadmaps and support international expansion goals.
  • Make architectural decisions and promote high-quality code and engineering processes.
  • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Mentor and coach team members on system design and coding standards.
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous, high-impact problems.
  • Passion for building an open financial system and supporting cryptocurrency adoption.
  • Ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots in daily workflows, with human-in-the-loop practices.
  • Experience working in a rapidly scaled organization, growing from 10 to hundreds of engineers (preferred).
  • Experience with blockchain technology such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Base (preferred).
  • Experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices (preferred).
  • Experience with Golang, Protobuf, Docker, MongoDB, Postgres, and AWS (preferred).
  • Experience building financial, high-reliability, or security systems (preferred).
  • Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity such as Ethereum addresses, ENS, and dApps (preferred).

  • Annual base salary of $217,900 CAD.
