Description

  • Build user-facing features using Golang and cloud technologies.
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of third-party tools and vendor integrations.
  • Collaborate with product, design, security, data, and engineering teams to deliver complex cross-functional outcomes.
  • Improve platforms and services across multiple teams by applying Coinbase’s development practices and technical domains.
  • Identify potential issues early and adapt approaches to avoid negative impact.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Simplify complex technical themes so they are understandable to non-technical team members.
  • Mentor teammates on design, coding best practices, testing, release and deployment processes, documentation, metrics, logging, and scaling.
  • Work across multiple time zones with distributed teammates.
  • Contribute to an environment where ideas are reviewed and turned into action.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing large-scale systems with Golang and cloud technologies.
  • Experience shipping user-facing features.
  • Experience with third-party vendor integrations.
  • Experience working on large-scale, high-traffic platforms and building scalable, robust services.
  • Experience authoring and implementing technical architecture.
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, BuildKite, or similar tools.
  • Experience with rate limiters, caching, load balancing, circuit breakers, metrics, logging, tracing, and debugging.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures such as Kafka or MQ.
  • Proficiency with either SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Understanding of gRPC, GraphQL, and ETL concepts.
  • Proficiency in Go.
  • Python and Ruby are nice to have.
  • SaaS platform experience is nice to have.

  • Annual base salary range of $186,065 to $218,900 USD.
  • Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
