Description

  • Manage CBAM accounting operations, including monthly close, account reconciliations, and US GAAP compliance.
  • Liaise with the fund controller to review and record management fees and manage expense allocations under fund agreements.
  • Lead compliance activities for SEC-registered investment advisor and NFA-registered commodity trading advisor requirements.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial results presentations for CBAM management.
  • Analyze data against business drivers to identify trends and issues.
  • Stay current on accounting, SEC, NFA, and fund accounting developments and provide accounting insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare annual US GAAP financial statements and support annual audit processes.
  • Partner with accounting team members to implement new accounting standards, policy changes, and accounting for new or modified products.
  • Ensure internal controls, policies, and procedures are compliant with Coinbase global requirements and support SOX compliance.
  • Streamline, automate, maintain, and improve processes, systems, and internal controls.
  • Oversee vendor billing relationships and coordinate with accounts payable to resolve payments and queries.
  • Prepare or review receivables and payables to and from fund entities.
  • Liaise with Compliance and Regulatory teams for quarterly and annual filings.
  • Support management with special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and COSO.
  • Advanced knowledge of reporting and compliance requirements for an SEC-registered investment advisor and NFA-registered commodity trading advisor.
  • Experience in fund accounting.
  • Experience serving as a trusted finance and accounting advisor to business executives.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to gather facts, understand business needs, articulate accounting requirements, and communicate conclusions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, timeline management skills, and attention to detail.
  • A desire to work in a fast-growing, exciting, and agile business.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, or other programming languages preferred.
  • Knowledge of blockchain technology and the crypto economy preferred.
  • Experience working in NetSuite, FloQast, and G-Suite preferred.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $130,900 to $154,000 USD, excluding equity and bonus.
  • Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
  • Remote-first in many roles, with required in-person participation for team and company-wide offsites throughout the year.
  • Attendance at multiple annual offsites is fully supported.
