Description

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable DBT models and curated gold-layer data domains on Azure Databricks.
  • Develop and optimize data solutions using Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Medallion Architecture.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, debugging, testing, documentation, and reviews.
  • Build and maintain data quality frameworks using DBT tests, validation rules, automated testing, and monitoring.
  • Participate in pull-request workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD deployment processes.
  • Curate datasets, semantic definitions, business terminology, and analytical assets for self-service and natural-language analytics.
  • Define reusable engineering patterns and contribute to data contracts, observability, and domain-driven ownership practices.
  • Support automation, migration, modernization, and AI-powered engineering initiatives.
  • Drive engineering standards, documentation, delivery methodologies, and productivity measurement.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to align data products with business objectives and quality expectations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and supporting production-grade DBT projects.
  • Strong DBT expertise, including models, tests, macros, snapshots, project structure, and large-scale refactoring.
  • Advanced SQL and solid Python programming skills.
  • Hands-on Azure Databricks experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Medallion Architecture.
  • Experience with data modeling, transformation, cloud analytics platforms, and Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with DBT testing, data quality validation, automated quality controls, and tools such as dbt-expectations or Great Expectations.
  • Experience with Git workflows, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
  • Ability to own data domains from design through production, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills; preferred experience includes PySpark, orchestration tools, regulated industries, semantic layers, observability, data contracts, Databricks advanced capabilities, or relevant certifications.
