Description

  • Build and maintain Databricks tables, views, jobs, pipelines, and orchestration following Fluent’s data architecture standards.
  • Develop pipelines that produce and deliver declared and ML-modeled audience segments.
  • Support delivery and performance reporting for segments distributed through LiveRamp, TruAudience, and Lotame.
  • Investigate and apply Databricks capabilities such as Spark Structured Streaming and Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines.
  • Improve testing, CI/CD, naming conventions, observability, metadata standards, and code quality.
  • Handle consumer data in accordance with Fluent’s privacy standards.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate pipeline development, testing, and documentation.
  • Translate business requests into functional requirements with Data Engineering, Data Science, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Communicate architecture, execution plans, releases, and training to internal teams.
  • Share engineering knowledge through brown bags, technical talks, and best-practice guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 4+ years of industry experience in data engineering.
  • Expertise in Python, SQL, Spark, and distributed processing.
  • 2+ years of experience with Databricks Data Engineering and Data Warehousing features, including Jobs & Workflows, Notebooks, Unity Catalog, and Delta Lake.
  • Strong foundation in database design, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.
  • Familiarity with emerging Databricks technologies such as Genie, Lakebase, AI/BI Dashboards, or Databricks Apps preferred.
  • Experience in digital marketing, ad tech, media, or advertising preferred.
  • Familiarity with audience, identity, or consumer segmentation data and marketplaces such as LiveRamp, TransUnion, or Lotame preferred.
