Description

  • Lead and mentor data engineers, set technical direction, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering excellence.
  • Own the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable data platforms, pipelines, and data models.
  • Define and lead migrations from Snowflake and SSIS to Azure Databricks and DBT.
  • Drive data quality, observability, cloud integration, and production readiness.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and advance CI/CD adoption and architectural standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex data engineering issues and collaborate with technical, product, architecture, and business stakeholders.
  • Lead team development through mentoring, training, and performance management.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of data engineering experience, including 2–3 years in a Lead or Staff-level role.
  • Experience owning system design and implementing large-scale data platforms.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake, Azure Databricks, DBT, Python, and advanced SQL.
  • Experience managing thousands of DBT models and pipelines processing terabytes of data daily.
  • Deep knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, distributed systems, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
  • Extensive experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and Git.
  • Experience leading cloud-to-cloud migrations, preferably from AWS to Azure.
  • Insurance or financial services experience, including claims, policies, underwriting, or risk domains.
  • Strong architectural decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Preferred: experience with governance, observability, streaming technologies, lakehouse architectures, cloud optimization, security/compliance, or hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
