Description

  • Lead and mentor data engineering teams, set technical direction, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering excellence.
  • Own the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, reliable, production-ready data platforms, pipelines, and models.
  • Lead migration strategies from Snowflake and SSIS to Azure Databricks and DBT.
  • Drive cloud integration, data quality, observability, troubleshooting, and architectural standards.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and promote CI/CD and Git-based development practices.
  • Collaborate with data, product, architecture, business, and other stakeholder teams.
  • Support engineering team development through mentoring, training, and performance management.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of data engineering experience, including 2–3 years in a Lead or Staff-level role.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale data platforms.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, Azure Databricks, DBT, Python, and advanced SQL.
  • Experience managing thousands of DBT models and pipelines processing terabytes of data daily.
  • Deep knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, distributed systems, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
  • Extensive experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
  • Experience leading cloud-to-cloud migrations, preferably from AWS to Azure.
  • Experience in insurance or financial services, including claims, policies, underwriting, or risk domains.
  • Strong architectural decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Preferred: experience with governance, observability, security, compliance, Kafka, Event Hubs, Delta Live Tables, lakehouse architectures, cost optimization, or multi-cloud environments.
