Description

  • Interface with customers in Japan to understand algorithms described in MATLAB for FPGA implementation.
  • Collaborate with a U.S.-based team to integrate engineering work into an automated deployment pipeline.
  • Optimize FPGA resource usage, performance, power, and timing to meet design constraints.
  • Perform timing analysis, constraint development, and functional simulation using FPGA development tools.
  • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions.
  • Support debugging, validation, and testing of FPGA designs, including lab-based verification.
  • Work across multiple time zones and join meetings outside standard business hours as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of hands-on, product-level FPGA development experience.
  • Experience with Xilinx or Intel FPGA platforms preferred.
  • Proficiency in HDL languages, including VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Strong understanding of digital design fundamentals, including clock domains, timing closure, FIFOs, state machines, and pipelining.
  • Experience with simulation, synthesis, and FPGA implementation tools such as Vivado, Quartus, and Synplify.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, including lab-based validation and testing.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese.
  • Familiarity with embedded C/C++ and integrating FPGA designs into larger embedded systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of embedded Linux environments and driver development is preferred.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or TCL for automation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as git is preferred.
