Description

  • Own an operational capability such as monitoring and alerting, remediation, or backup and recovery, including automation, runbooks, and service standards.
  • Design observability for regulated cloud environments, including telemetry and log pipelines, SLOs, alerting, and escalation paths.
  • Build and maintain continuous-monitoring evidence pipelines that demonstrate authorized system state.
  • Develop and test backup and recovery procedures against measurable recovery objectives.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point, lead major incident response, and convert incident findings into improved automation and procedures.
  • Automate operational work using infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting.
  • Partner with architecture and build teams to transition environments into managed operations.
  • Lead on-call improvements, client-facing operational discussions, renewals, and expansions.
  • Mentor engineers, review designs and code, and establish operational standards and documentation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, cloud operations, platform engineering, or managed services.
  • 5+ years operating production environments in AWS, Azure, or GCP, including monitoring, incident response, and automation.
  • Deep expertise with at least one major cloud platform and working knowledge of a second.
  • Advanced Infrastructure-as-Code and automation experience with Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent; scripting in Python, Go, or similar.
  • Experience with observability, including metrics, logging, distributed tracing, SLIs, SLOs, and actionable alert design.
  • Demonstrated incident command, backup and recovery, resilience engineering, and senior operational escalation experience.
  • Working knowledge of NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, or comparable security control frameworks.
  • Professional- or specialty-level AWS, Azure, or GCP certification; associate-level certification may qualify with equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Preferred: FedRAMP Rev. 5/20x, KSIs, OSCAL, compliance automation, SIEM, disaster recovery, CISSP, GIAC, CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIG, or professional services experience.
