Description

  • Design and develop high-throughput integrations with databases (Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB), data lakes (Iceberg, Delta Lake), and data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake).
  • Handle real-world production edge cases including unconventional database setups, data type internals, upgrades/failovers, and large transactions.
  • Design integration solutions to enable users to fully harness ClickHouse's performance and throughput.
  • Debug complex production issues using runtime diagnostics and observability tools (e.g., pprof, parca, metrics, logging, tracing).
  • Build and improve infrastructure and tooling to increase system reliability, reduce incident response time, and simplify/automate operations.
  • Write clear public and internal documentation and contribute to open-source components used by the team.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and operational support for production services.
  • Work directly with customers and cross-functional teams to gather integration requirements, lead technical discussions, and influence product roadmap decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience building data-intensive software solutions.
  • Proficient in Go, or experienced in systems programming with a willingness to ramp up quickly in Go.
  • Experience deploying and operating cloud-native services on at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes.
  • Strong production debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication for design docs, code reviews, customer calls, and incident response.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and customer-facing troubleshooting.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with database replication technologies (CDC, logical replication), durable execution frameworks (e.g., Temporal), data formats/protocols (Avro, Parquet, Protobuf), modern data processing frameworks (Kafka, Spark, Flink), and contributing to open-source projects.
