Description

  • Lead backend design and implementation for high-impact internal systems and services.
  • Collaborate across the full product lifecycle from ideation to deployment using GitHub and modern CI/CD workflows.
  • Mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical documentation.
  • Write scalable, testable Java code with built-in unit and integration testing.
  • Maintain and evolve microservices in a modern architecture.
  • Integrate internal and external systems through REST, GraphQL, and SOAP APIs.
  • Participate in cross-team architectural discussions and problem-solving.
  • Help shape technical direction and systems design while promoting engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend development experience with deep knowledge of software design principles.
  • Working proficiency in English and Spanish or Portuguese.
  • Proficiency in Java, with a minimum version of 10 and ideally version 17.
  • Experience with Spring Boot 3.
  • Experience with Hibernate/JPA and relational or NoSQL databases.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven systems using Kafka.
  • Experience integrating with third-party providers via REST, GraphQL, and SOAP APIs.
  • Proficiency with Docker, Git, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Experience or interest in AI tools to automate workflows, such as N8N, ChatGPT, or Gemini.
  • Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience working with multi-country stakeholders and remote teams (preferred).
  • Exposure to infrastructure and monitoring tooling within cloud-native environments (preferred).
  • Experience creating systems with a high volume of transactions (preferred).
  • Independent analytical skills using spreadsheets or SQL (preferred).
  • A good sense of humor (preferred).
