Description

  • Research elections at all levels, from national races to local special districts.
  • Research candidates for selected elections, including their experience, qualifications, incumbent status, and issue stances.
  • Research elected positions, including office roles, responsibilities, eligibility requirements, and filing steps.
  • Research current officeholders, including their years in office.
  • Use creative research methods to find accurate details when information is difficult to verify.
  • Extract, normalize, ingest, and regularly refresh large volumes of civic data.
  • Collect geospatial data to support Civitech’s products and voting resources.
  • Communicate proactively when research is unclear or when deadlines may need to change.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent time management and personal organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and using creative research methods.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and proactively when questions or issues arise.
  • Commitment to leveraging technology and data products to increase civic participation.
  • Experience working with political data is desired but not required.
  • Proficiency with SQL is desired but not required.
  • Proficiency with GIS is desired but not required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; Civitech does not provide visa sponsorship.

Benefits

  • $15 to $18.50 per hour.
  • Remote work with the ability to be based anywhere in the U.S.
  • Flexible contractor availability with no guaranteed minimum hours.
  • Project-based contract expected to run through December 11, 2026.
