Description

  • Develop predictive default propensity models using traditional machine learning classification and ensemble methods.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and select relevant features from structured contractual data and external sources.
  • Build, version, and track modeling experiments in Databricks and MLflow.
  • Design and execute robust validation approaches, including cross-validation, temporal backtesting, and score stability analysis.
  • Participate in iterative model improvement cycles by incorporating new variables, reassessing performance, and documenting learnings.
  • Work closely with Data Engineers to ensure data pipelines and model outputs are correctly integrated into the platform.
  • Translate technical model results into business language for stakeholders and support business-facing communication.
  • Document methodologies, modeling decisions, and results in structured formats for reuse by knowledge bases and AI agents.
  • Monitor model performance in production, identify data drift and concept drift, and recommend corrective actions or retraining.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in data science with predictive modeling for production business problems.
  • Proven experience with classification and ensemble models such as Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and XGBoost in credit, risk, or anomaly detection contexts.
  • Experience using Databricks for model development, experimentation, and versioning, including Delta Lake, MLflow, Spark MLlib, or equivalent distributed tools.
  • Solid knowledge of feature selection, imbalanced data handling, and temporal validation strategies for risk models.
  • Experience analyzing and modeling data in the AWS ecosystem, including S3, Athena, SageMaker, or equivalent managed cloud ML services.
  • Ability to communicate model results and limitations clearly to non-technical audiences with business decision orientation.
  • Experience in financial services, such as credit, risk, delinquency, or similar domains.
  • Technical reading and documentation English is a plus.
  • Experience with agricultural credit models or other seasonal domains with climate and crop variables is a plus.
  • Familiarity with unstructured data in modeling pipelines, such as NLP, embeddings, or media data, is a plus.
  • Experience monitoring production models, including drift detection and automated retraining, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of model explainability techniques such as SHAP or LIME is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI-native delivery models and AI agents is a plus.
  • Machine learning or Databricks certifications, such as Databricks Certified Machine Learning Associate/Professional or AWS Machine Learning Specialty, are a plus.
