Description

  • Shape the direction of key data science initiatives such as usage forecasting, product analytics, user behavior analysis, and funnel analysis.
  • Work closely with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and other stakeholders to understand product usage patterns and trends.
  • Use data to support decision-making and forecasting across business and product functions.
  • Manage stakeholders within a focus area by gathering changing requirements, defining OKRs and milestones, and communicating progress to non-technical audiences.
  • Mentor and guide other data scientists through project planning, technical decisions, and code and document review.
  • Build self-serving internal data products that make data easier to use across the company.
  • Help build a data-driven culture within Databricks by solving product and business challenges.
  • Act as an internal production customer that dogsfoods Databricks and influences future product direction.

Requirements

  • Experience applying Data Science or ML in production to build data-driven products that solve business problems.
  • Familiarity with product analytics, including adoption, churn, cohorts, and funnel analysis.
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders across business functions such as Product, Customer Success, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Strong coding skills in general-purpose languages such as Scala or Python.
  • Familiarity with software engineering principles, including testing, code reviews, and deployment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization using tools such as R and Python.
  • Experience with distributed data processing systems such as Spark and Hadoop.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
