Description

  • Monitor and respond to network alerts using network monitoring tools.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across LAN, WAN, and wireless environments.
  • Provide first- and second-level support for network incidents and service requests.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless access points.
  • Maintain network documentation such as diagrams, change records, and asset registers.
  • Participate in network upgrades, patching, and configuration changes under supervision.
  • Perform basic firewall and VPN configurations under direction from senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, processes, and standards.
  • Contribute to knowledge base documentation and team learning resources.

Requirements

  • Exposure to vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco, Ubiquiti, or Aruba.
  • Understanding of firewall configurations and VPN concepts.
  • Experience with monitoring tools.
  • Basic scripting knowledge, such as PowerShell or Bash.
  • ITIL awareness or certification.
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Networking, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including IP addressing, routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
  • Exposure to or understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VLANs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows networking environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Vulnerable People / Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check required.
