Description

  • Understand public sector AI strategies and agency challenges to identify the best problem-solution fit.
  • Translate agency requirements into Celonis solutions that deliver measurable public impact.
  • Lead technical discovery, capability demonstrations, and procurement support during pre-sales cycles.
  • Stay engaged after sale to guide implementation, adoption, and value realization.
  • Rapidly build prototypes for agency hackathons to address high-priority operational pain points.
  • Support customers in shifting from rigid, paper-heavy workflows to autonomous AI-enabled processes.
  • Lead end-to-end proof-of-value projects, including solution architecture and delivery.
  • Build secure, scalable LLM and agent systems with RAG, tools, and guardrails.
  • Integrate solutions with government enterprise data, identity protocols, and compliance/security frameworks.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for the State and Local Government vertical.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading technical pre-sales and post-sales engagements in the public sector, specifically State and Local Government.
  • Experience navigating government procurement cycles and building ROI business cases for public funds.
  • Deep understanding of state and local government business processes such as Health & Human Services, Procurement, Finance, DMV, or Public Safety.
  • Expertise in generative AI techniques including RAG, few-shot learning, prompt engineering, multi-agent orchestration, multimodal understanding, or fine-tuning.
  • Solid knowledge of Python and common ML libraries such as LangChain, pandas, pydantic, sklearn, and PyTorch.
  • Experience with data engineering tools and technologies.
  • Strong presentation skills for internal and external stakeholders, including elected officials, agency directors, and IT leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience building agentic systems using LLM orchestration, RAG, function calling, and prompt engineering is a big plus.
  • Experience deploying and monitoring models at scale in government-compliant cloud environments such as AWS GovCloud or Azure Government is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of LLM ecosystem tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or other open-source packages is preferred.
  • Visa sponsorship is not offered for this role.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $145,000 to $170,000 USD in California for a full-time schedule.
  • Total compensation includes base salary, bonus/commission, equity, and benefits.
