Description

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for front-end products and public APIs.
  • Lead end-to-end test automation with Playwright for functional, regression, cross-browser, and performance coverage.
  • Own API test automation, including contract, functional, and integration tests for public and internal APIs.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines so they run reliably on relevant triggers.
  • Design and document test cases for user stories and validate acceptance criteria with product before implementation.
  • Define and maintain test suite structure for smoke, regression, and full runs, and decide what to automate versus test manually.
  • Run and maintain regression suites for feature releases and underlying data version changes, including production regression runs.
  • Create test plans for each release and report bugs through to resolution with product.
  • Define, record, and report QA metrics to measure coverage, reliability, and product risk.
  • Advance QA strategy, tooling, and infrastructure over time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test suites for production web applications.
  • Proven, recent experience with Playwright for end-to-end browser automation.
  • Solid experience with API test automation, including contract tests, functional API tests, and integration tests.
  • Experience working in Agile teams with sprint-based delivery.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions or equivalent.
  • Experience with performance testing and cross-browser testing.
  • Experience developing test plans and test cases, including deciding what to automate versus test manually.
  • Ability to work through a complex network of interdependent tools, resources, user roles, and permissions.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on edge cases and breaking things.
  • Experience with Cypress in addition to Playwright is preferred.
  • Experience testing data-heavy applications using maps, charts, heatmaps, or other data visualizations is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Git and modern branching strategies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerized test environments is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform, is preferred.
  • Open-source collaboration experience is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English is required; good verbal Spanish is a plus.
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently in a small, fast-moving organization.
  • Proactive, highly organized, and able to own tasks end-to-end.
  • Able to communicate clearly with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership.
  • Able to manage multiple ongoing tasks, share estimates, raise risks, and meet deadlines.
