Description

  • Develop and organize Canvas course modules using department templates to create a consistent student experience.
  • Integrate external tools and digital content such as CK-12, CommonLit, and TCI into Canvas.
  • Manage high-volume course production tasks, including naming conventions, template application, and embedding interactive elements such as quizzes, rubrics, discussions, and LTI resources.
  • Ensure course content meets WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, including alt-text and captions.
  • Collaborate with the BVA team to transform instructional content into engaging digital learning experiences.
  • Update and troubleshoot course materials as platform features and district policies change.
  • Complete required asynchronous training and attend synchronous meetings as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus advanced training in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or a closely related field required.
  • Experience designing content for learning management systems required; Canvas experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines required.
  • Pennsylvania teaching certification strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with diverse student populations strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of K-12 or higher education online learning environments strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with multimedia authoring tools and instructional design software strongly preferred.
  • Current PA Child Abuse (Act 151) clearance, PA Criminal (Act 34) clearance, and PA Department of Education FBI clearance using code 1KG6XN required.
  • Education documentation in the form of a diploma or official transcripts required.
