Description

  • Lead the technical strategy and architectural roadmap for high-throughput platform infrastructure.
  • Architect and scale distributed streaming systems for millions of concurrent telemetry events, location updates, and webhooks.
  • Design integration frameworks, API gateways, and microservice patterns for new ELD and telematics integrations.
  • Own AWS infrastructure, container orchestration, and infrastructure as code to improve resilience, scaling, and cost efficiency.
  • Establish observability, tracing, alerting, SLIs/SLOs, runbooks, and incident-management practices.
  • Set engineering standards through architectural reviews and production practices.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers across the platform organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership on product and API direction and support the development of Sales Engineering.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience.
  • 2+ years in a Staff-level or principal technical leadership role.
  • Experience designing and operating high-throughput, low-latency distributed event systems for real-time streaming data.
  • Expertise with Docker, multi-region AWS deployments, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CDK, Terraform, or Pulumi.
  • Experience with distributed datastores, message brokers, caches, and time-series databases, including tools such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Kinesis, SQS, Data Firehose, Timestream, Kafka, and Redis.
  • Strong Python and backend/systems programming experience, including API gateways and webhook delivery engines.
  • Experience at an API-first startup, developer platform, IoT provider, or real-time event-driven company (preferred).
  • Experience with telematics, IoT, logistics, fintech, or insurance data; geospatial/time-series data; multi-tenant OAuth access; third-party API integrations; or SOC 2 environments (preferred).
  • Must be based in the US; sponsorship is not available.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for team and customer on-sites.
