Description

  • Lead the technical strategy and architectural roadmap for high-throughput platform infrastructure.
  • Architect and scale distributed streaming systems such as Kinesis and Kafka for real-time telemetry processing.
  • Design API gateways, integration abstractions, and microservice patterns for ELD and telematics integrations.
  • Own AWS infrastructure, container orchestration, and infrastructure as code using AWS CDK.
  • Drive observability, distributed tracing, alerting, operational runbooks, SLIs/SLOs, and incident management.
  • Conduct architectural reviews, establish production standards, and mentor platform engineers.
  • Maintain sub-second API response times, fault tolerance, and 99.99% uptime as data volume scales.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience.
  • 2+ years in a Staff-level or principal technical leadership role.
  • Deep experience designing and operating high-throughput, low-latency distributed event systems.
  • Expertise with Docker, AWS, multi-region deployments, and infrastructure as code tools such as AWS CDK, Terraform, or Pulumi.
  • Experience with distributed datastores, message brokers, caching, and time-series databases including PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Kinesis, SQS, Firehose, Timestream, Kafka, or Redis.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or other modern backend and systems programming languages.
  • Experience building robust API gateways and webhook delivery systems.
  • Preferred experience with API-first startups, developer platforms, IoT, telematics, logistics, fintech, insurance data, or real-time event-driven systems.
  • Preferred experience with geospatial or time-series data, multi-tenant delivery, third-party APIs, OAuth, or SOC 2 environments.
  • US work authorization required; no sponsorship available, with occasional team and customer travel.
