Description

  • Hire, coach, and develop engineers from junior through staff levels while building engineering leadership capacity.
  • Set the vision, roadmap priorities, and long-term strategy for the Core Platform portfolio with cross-functional partners.
  • Own delivery, operational excellence, and outcomes for identity, customer job processing, and design-system platforms.
  • Ensure critical platform systems remain performant, reliable, secure, and scalable.
  • Set architectural guardrails and guide major technical decisions for complex distributed systems.
  • Establish effective processes and async-first ways of working across a distributed team.
  • Partner with peer engineering managers on organization-wide engineering initiatives.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical issues and maintain system uptime.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing software engineers, preferably in a remote-first B2B SaaS or startup environment.
  • 8+ years of full-time software development experience, preferably in product engineering or full-stack roles.
  • Demonstrated experience hiring, developing, and supporting engineers’ career growth.
  • Track record of delivering high-quality, customer-focused features across the full product lifecycle.
  • Technical depth in complex architecture and ability to guide senior engineers toward sound decisions.
  • Strong written, interpersonal, and cross-functional communication skills in a remote-first environment.
  • High ownership, growth mindset, and comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Preferred location in the East Coast or Central US, or Canada.
